MY STORY

February 23, 2025 I, Chad Heimbecker of Lower Saucon Township officially announced my candidacy with the Democratic Party for Township Council.
Β
I have lived in the Lehigh Valley my entire life, born in Allentown in 1978 and moved to the Township in 2013.
Β
I am the oldest child of a single mother who devoted herself to raising three children while building a successful career as a business owner. My grandfather worked in accounting at Bethlehem Steel. My grandmother was a piano teacher. I learned my entrepreneurial spirit, my passion for solving puzzles & my love of music from them.

I was married until my wife & partner of 24 years passed away from ovarian cancer in 2018. I now raise our two children who attend Saucon Valley School District. My daughter sings in the choir. My son plays soccer & basketball. Both are Honor Students and I take great joy & inspiration in nurturing & watching them develop into adults.

My educational background includes a BS in Biology and Computer Science from Muhlenberg College in 2000. I was Pre-Med and planned to become a surgeon, to heal people, but life took me in a different direction.
Β
Since 2007 I have operated my own business providing Information Technology, Web Development & other freelance consulting services to hundreds of clients in various sectors.
In addition, I have nearly 30 years experience in the roadway safety industry with multiple patents, membership on government & industry committees, research projects for the National Academy of the Sciences, as an educator of industry certification training, and have been involved with legislative advocacy at the Federal & State level for Transportation Infrastructure.
Β
I have served on the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee, and in 2024 became a voting member of the Lower Saucon Environmental Advisory Committee.
Β
I had the opportunity to travel all over this country, and am always happy to be back home here in the Lehigh Valley, where my Pennsylvania Dutch & Native American ancestors have lived for generations. The diversity in the people & the seasons, the hills & valleys, the rivers & streams, the wildlife & plant species are all part of what makes this place special. We are a melting pot of food, languages, art, music & culture. My love for this area & community is first and foremost in why I am running for public office.
I am seeking to learn, to grow, to help others & give back, and become more involved in the Township I call home. In providing my knowledge & expertise in various subject matters, with an emphasis on evidence based decision making, critical thinking & empathy, to help foster a sense of pride & ownership in our community.
Β
I want to make investments in our infrastructure & public safety, in our open spaces & parks, in our public education & library, in our quality of life, in attracting new businesses, employment & services with sustainable, responsible growth & development. I believe in the freedom, individuality & opportunity of American capitalism, and I also believe that as a community we can stand United to achieve great things.
Β
There is so much public anger and mistrust in politics, with government at all levels, and it is my intention to help heal this animosity by ensuring everyone in the community can be heard, recognized and have their concerns brought to the table. There is no way to rebuild trust without transparency, honesty, integrity and healthy open communication.
We need to restore decorum, decency, respect, patience & understanding to our Township affairs. Let us come together to make decisions that make the most sense in how we allocate funding, invest our time, energy & resources to best serve the Township and its residents, to build a sense of togetherness and to help everyone who lives, works & visits our area feel like home.
Β
It would be an honor & a privilege to represent the citizens, businesses & natural beauty of Lower Saucon Township and if elected, is my sincere promise to act in good faith and the best of my ability to execute the duties of Township Council. Thank you for your consideration.

This came up in conversation yesterday...To me, honesty is the best policy and I've learned it's much easier to tell the truth than try to remember the lie.

Happy 4th of Jully...as happy as we can be with a BBB that doesn't make me feel much like celebrating our government. With tax policies that give more to those who already have plenty while taking away from those who have nothing, ballooning our deficit even further, and giving a
